May 22nd, 2012 - The Vision That Keeps our Strength

Isaiah 40:27-31

Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest , O Israel, My way is hid from the Lord, and my judgement is passed over from my God? Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 8:17

And I will wait upon the Lord, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

Habakkuk 2:3

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Luke 2:25

And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. 26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. 27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, 28 Then took he to him up in his arms, and blessed  God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou depart in peace, according to thy word: 30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, 31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

This is our strength: That the Lord Jesus has promised his salvation for those who repent and receive Him as their Lord and Savior. This is our vision to hope and live for. This is our strength as we wait for His promises and trust in Him.

Mark 15:43

Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the Kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly and craved the body of Jesus.

Psalm 25:2

O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Romans 10:11

For the Scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Psalm 27:14

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

Psalm 62:1

Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. 2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. 5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my  defence; I shall not be moved. 7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Isaiah 25:9

And it shall be said in that day, Lo this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

2 Corinthians 2:9

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly  therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in my infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
